Fine Arts Program Exhibitions

The mission of the Fine Arts Program is to collect art and to organize exhibitions. The Program has nonprofit, tax-exempt status under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. Acquisitions of artwork are made possible through cash contributions or donations from private citizens and foundations. Since the founding of the Fine Arts Program in 1975, the collection has grown to include over 400 works of art.

See below for a list of recent past exhibitions, which were organized by the Fine Arts Program at the Federal Reserve Board. These exhibitions highlighted individual artists, art movements, and thematic trends. Artworks for these shows were borrowed from museums, galleries, libraries, artists, private collectors, and central banks from around the world. The Fine Arts Program also collaborated with foreign central banks by featuring exhibitions from their collections, when the International Monetary Fund and World Bank annual meetings are held in Washington, D.C.
