Chairman Alan Greenspan of the Federal Reserve Board today issued the following statement:
I am saddened by the resignation of my friend Bob Rubin. He has been one of the most effective Secretaries of the Treasury in this nation's history. He will be missed, especially by those of us at the Federal Reserve who have been privileged to work with him over these last four and a half years. Fortunately, the President has chosen Larry Summers to succeed him. He is a person of extraordinary talent and judgment, who will continue the important work Bob Rubin initiated. I, and my colleagues, look forward to working with our 71st Secretary of the Treasury. |
