The Federal Open Market Committee is made up of
the seven members of the Board of Governors; the president of the
Federal Reserve Bank of New York; and four of the remaining eleven
Reserve Bank presidents, who serve one-year terms on a rotating basis.
During 2008 the Federal Open Market Committee held eight regularly
scheduled meetings and six conference calls (see "Minutes of Federal
Open Market Committee Meetings" in this volume).
