The share of all loans consisting of commercial real estate loans at the 100 largest banks starts in 1990 at a little over 19 percent, declines steadily to just under 13 percent in 1997, slowly rises to 18 percent at the end of 2006, and remains at that level through 2007. The share of all loans consisting of commercial real estate loans at medium-sized and small banks starts at about 21.5 percent in 1990 and holds at around that level until the end of 1996, when it rises to a value of about 30 percent in 2000. Subsequently, this share climbs notably to reach almost 47 percent at the end of 2007.
