Many Reserve Banks monitor trends and credit market conditions for small and new businesses. The polling efforts of the Federal Reserve Banks of New York and Atlanta are two examples of System work to better understand small business trends. Findings from these polls can be found below.
Federal Reserve Bank of New York
In 2010, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York launched the Small Business Borrower Poll to track credit and financing issues for small businesses in the tri-state area. The poll, administered twice a year with the help of civic and nonprofit organizations, takes a fresh look at borrower demand. Below are survey findings from this effort:

In 2010, the Atlanta Fed began administering a quarterly survey to businesses with fewer than 500 employees to gather information on trends in credit access and other issues relevant to small business. Below are survey findings from this effort:
