Lael Brainard sworn in as member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, Jerome H. Powell sworn in for second term, and Stanley Fischer sworn in as Vice Chairman of the Board

Lael Brainard took the oath of office as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System on Monday. Jerome H. Powell was also sworn in for a second term on the Board and Stanley Fischer was sworn in as Vice Chairman of the Board. The oaths were administered by Chair Janet L. Yellen in the Board Room.

President Obama nominated the three in January 2014. Dr. Brainard and Mr. Powell were confirmed as Board members by the United States Senate on June 12, and their terms expire on January 31, 2026, and January 31, 2028, respectively. Dr. Fischer was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as a Board member on May 21, and confirmed as Vice Chairman on June 12. His term as Vice Chairman expires June 12, 2018.
