Levels are calculated as equity U.S. direct investment abroad (LM263192101) multiplied by the finance company sector's share of total U.S. direct investment abroad (LM613092003 / LM263192001). Returns are determined according to capital gains on total equity U.S. direct investment abroad (FR263192101). Transactions are the change in level less the revaluation component. The last ten years of data show no significant seasonality.
