Series Structure
In the Financial Accounts, each series is identified by a string of patterned letters and numbers. This page provides a breakdown of what the letters and numbers represent in a series mnemonic.
The prefix letters indicate the series type. For example, “FA” indicates transactions at a seasonally adjusted annual rate, while “FL” indicates a level that is not seasonally adjusted. The prefix box illustrates the relationships between series types.
