Dear Colleague:On behalf of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, I would like to welcome you to today's policy discussion on Investing in What Works for America's Communities.
Investing in What Work's For America's Communities (PDF) is a collection of essays that present innovative ideas that can bring new opportunities to America's struggling communities. The book published by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and the Low Income Investment Fund is the culmination of several years of partnership with experts from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
Today's discussions will focus on variety of topics including the challenges and opportunities for community development within the current policy environment, programs and activities that have measurable impacts on households and communities, and the methods to attract private and public investments for scalable practices.
