Additional Information about Applying for a Career at the Board
To learn more about the work of the Federal Reserve Board and the major career families for which we recruit, please review our brochure, Careers at the Federal Reserve Board (PDF), which describes work life at the Board, the different career families, how they work together, and how each family works to accomplish the Board's mission.
The Board's Division of Reserve Bank Operations and Payment Systems (RBOPS) oversees the Federal Reserve Banks' provision of financial services to depository institutions, fiscal agency services to the Treasury and other government agencies, and significant support functions, such as information technology, financial and cost accounting, audit, human resources, facilities management, and protection. The division also develops policies and regulations to foster the efficiency and integrity of the U.S. payments system, works with other central banks and international organizations to improve the payments system more broadly, and conducts research on payments issues. Many highly skilled professionals are needed to assist the division with meeting its responsibilities.
For positions other than economists, research assistants, or interns, your application will receive faster attention if you apply online for the specific job. To apply for a specific job, select the Apply Now button at the bottom of the job family description or select the Submit résumé button at the top of the actual job posting. (The job posting is the page that explains the details and requirements of the specific job that you have selected from the Apply Now or Check Availability buttons.)
For economist, research assistant, or intern positions, follow the instructions supplied on the How to Apply pages.
If you are called for an interview, you may be asked to complete a Job Application form (273 KB PDF). The recruiter will let you know if you will need this form. Do not complete or submit the Job Application form unless the recruiter has made the request.
Please do not submit applications or résumés to the Board for positions that are not posted on the Career Opportunities web site.
