Broad Index of the Foreign Exchange Value of the Dollar

Weights for the Advanced Foreign Economies (AFE) and the Emerging Market Economies (EME) indexes can be derived from the weights, shown below, for the broad index of the foreign exchange value of the dollar. The method used to construct the weights is described in "Revisions to the Federal Reserve Dollar Indexes". The broad index and the other exchange rate indexes calculated by staff of the Federal Reserve Board are presented on the Nominal/Real Indexes page.

Bilateral dollar exchange rates are available from the Board's H.10 (weekly) and G.5 (monthly) statistical releases. The previous currency weights were in use from December 18, 2023 to March 21, 2025.
